Matfer 915901 8 Piece Bourgeat Copper Cookware Set

I had never heard of Matfer brand earlier, but as our cookware reviews site chugged along, I learned more about many other brands that were great. In america, we consumer tend to look for frugal products as we like to save money unlike our european counter part. This Matfer brand is reputable and well known else where. It is expensive, costing around $1500-$2000 range, so buying it for review was out of question for me. So, I asked my one of the chef friend locally San Francisco area, for his opinion with Matfer Bourgeat Cookware, which he had been using for past 8 years. I conducted small interview with him, so I can write this review.

First thing I noticed was the quality of cookware was great despite being used for over 8 years, it was heavy as good cast iron cookware. Sure, it had dings and scratches for being used for so long but washing by hand had preserved its shine and look. The food cooked in copper cookware has its distinct quality due to heat conductivity. For my limited exposure with this cookware, I say I like using it and it looks great on pot rack hanging. If money is no object is quality is, I certainly would recommend this Bourgeat copper cookware from Matfer.
